Police raid Elysian Valley pot dispensary

LAPD officers were on the scene to take control of the Royal Temple of Zion, a medical marijuana dispensary in Elysian Valley, said a police officer on the scene. The reason for the raid on Eads Street facility near the Los Angeles River was not immediately known. But posts on a medical marijuana news group said that officers with search warrants had arrested four people at the dispensary.

An ad for the Royal Temple of Zion in KUSH LA magazine describes it as 4,000-square feet of "Reggae by the river" with pool tables, ping pong and chess tournaments. A free gram is offered for new patients.

  1. It had to be the chess tournaments, since medical marijuana is legal in the state of Cali. The LAPD can't enforce Federal laws, so they broke up the chess matches.

  2. So everyone knows... the police have returned twice this week, "informally", to warn us not to open again... What is going on in LA right now? THIS IS A CIVIL MATTER... and now they've gone after CannaMed of Northridge, one of the oldest, best run, and most respected dispensaries in the city.

  3. what a joke, its because they dont have the resources or balls to go after the mexican mafia or anyone causing real problems and still selling DRUGS

people need to stop criminalizing marijuana, especially when there's plenty of real chemicals pushing methamphetamines and cocaine in and around Los angeles
